Raf Leathers
Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern (RMHCI)
Hi! My name is Raf Leathers and I am honored you are here.
I believe that to be human is to feel many things, probably all at once, and to hold space for everything we are and all that comes up. I believe that emotions need a witness, another fellow human to remind us that we are not alone. There is such a complexity of emotions that come from simply existing. Especially in our society today. That forever search and discovery of one’s most authentic self all while navigating the current world around you. The unlearning and remembering of who you are/want to be. Finding the language to communicate who we are and our stories matter.
I’m a therapist that incorporates a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities to best hold space for each unique individual that I get to embark on this journey with. I’m no stranger to therapy- I am familiar and not immune to the human experience. I know what it feels like to sit on the other side of the room and strongly value giving you a sense of autonomy. I collaborate with you and operate from a place of relationship- the most healing tool I've come to know.
I specialize in grief and loss, anxiety, religious trauma, life transitions, boundary work, and in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. My hope is that I can provide a space for all that you carry to be witnessed, validated, and explored. I’d love to join you in your journey towards embracing both the beautiful and painful complexities of being human.
