Ya'Shanti Fields
Mental Health Counseling Graduate Student Intern
Hello! I'm Ya'Shanti, I am completing my Master's in Education with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida.
My ideal client is someone who is open to learning more about themselves and is willing to go through the often difficult process of growth and change. I provide therapy for adults, couples, and teenagers with various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and complex trauma.
I will utilize a strengths-based combination of narrative therapy and internal family systems therapy. One example of what this could look like is helping you to build self-compassion, particularly for parts or behaviors that may have originated as a form of protection. I offer a space for clients to feel seen, validated, and challenged where needed.
My ultimate hope is to support those coming from underserved communities, particularly those who are marginalized through intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity, disability, and SES. Taking steps to receive support, heal, and make changes in your life can be overwhelming, I look forward to being a part of your process!
You can contact me directly at (352) 519-1121. I look forward to hearing from you!
