Hi, and thank you for seeking the help you need! After experiencing my own mental health challenges as a teenager, I decided to dedicate my life to helping others. I take a transpersonal approach to therapy, viewing life as a journey toward one's highest potential! Mental health issues including depression and anxiety can have external causes including stress and trauma, as well as internal causes such as how we choose to handle what we are going through. By working on our own resiliency and coping skills, we can not only learn to handle current situations but also come to understand ourselves better and build up our characters.
I will work hard to understand you and to help you meet the challenges you face, utilizing CBT, REBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, alternative/complementary, and other approaches, as best suits your situation. I have experience working with teens and adults with serious mental health and/or substance abuse challenges, as well as those dealing with grief, anxiety and/or depression. I have worked in both psychiatric and community mental health settings. Further, I have a certificate in diet coaching from the Vegetarian Health Institute and was trained in Reiki and Yoga for mental health in India.
